PRESS: Gazprom can sue antitrust not hiking transportation fee
MOSCOW, Jul 10 (PRIME) -- Gazprom, as the sole main gas pipeline owner, can sue the Federal Antimonopoly Service for not allowing the transportation price for independent producers to rise resulting in a 17 billion ruble loss in 2018 for the monopoly, business daily Kommersant reported on Tuesday, citing a document sent to the watchdog.
The last time the prices rose by 2% in 2015. Indexation will be considered at a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak on Friday.
An independent gas producer Novatek official told Kommersant that a fair tariff cannot be calculated because Gazprom would not present all necessary information. The official also said that the current tariff exceeds the fair price by over 20%. A representative of Rosneft, an oil producer with gas projects, said that there are no prerequisites to raise the tariff.
